The metallurgy department consists of personnel accredited by CERTIAEND (Certificate of the Spanish association of non-destructive testing) as level 2 in the testing methods of liquid penetrant inspection, magnetic particles and ultrasounds, as well as inspectors of welded construction, certified by CESOL (Spanish welding society).

The specialised fields in inspections and testing of metallic materials and welding are the following:

DESTRUCTIVE TESTING:

  • Traction, compression, bending, fracture, breakage, buckling, splitting.
  • Brinell scale, Rockwell scale and Vickers hardness test. Hardness charts.
  • Resilience testing under room temperature and low temperature (up to 196 ºC).
  • Metallographic analysis. Decarburization. Content of micro-inclusions, grain size.
  • Macrographic analysis.
  • Chemical steel analysis.
  • Corrugated steel testing.
  • Complete testing of electrowelded mesh.
  • Load test on covers and register frameworks.
  • Content of zinc coating and evenness of the coating.
  • Adhesion testing.
  • Testing of valves and cast-iron pipes.
  • Quality control of metal fences and springs.

NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING:
  • Welding inspection using penetrating liquids, magnetic particles, ultrasounds and x-rays.
  • Visual welding inspection.
  • Determination of the geometric characteristics of metallic materials.
  • Testing of torque setting of screws and joints.
  • Measuring of the paint thickness in ferric and non-ferric materials.

HOMOLOGATION OF THE WELDING PROCESS AND THE WELDER’S QUALIFICATION

  • Issuing of certificates according to EN, ASME, API

MACHINE SHOP

  • Lathe, milling machine, and auxiliary equipment for the machining of test pieces for destructive testing.

INSPECTION, CONTROL, AND EVALUATION OF STRUCTURES

ENSAYA is accredited by the DGA (regional council of Aragon) in the field of profile control of steel for structures (EAP) and in the field of welding control of the structural profiles of steel (EAS). See credentials.
